Wyoming Technology Organization announces New Executive Director, Heidi D. Peterson
Heidi Peterson, Owner of Wyoming Ink Publications and Co-Owner of the Laramie Colts, has been named as the new executive director of the Wyoming Technology Organization and Venture West Network, Inc. These two organizations will be merging to form Wyoming Innovations Network (WIN). Peterson brings 16 years of experience in entrepreneurship and a new energy to the technology industry in Wyoming.
Shawn Mills, outgoing Executive Director of the WTO, said the following of Peterson, “It is always hard to leave an organization, especially when you have been involved since its inception. However, Heidi has the energy and entrepreneurial zeal that I am confident will continue to move the technology industry in Wyoming forward. I am very excited to witness the great things to come.”
Peterson promises to provide greater drive and direction for the WTO’s current projects including increasing advocacy among the state legislature, facilitating coordination and communication among the tech companies in the state, and publicizing the growing technology sector.
Mrs. Peterson said, “While serving in the US Navy I had to deal with numerous situations where I had no prior experience and no play book. Once again I find myself in that position and like I did then, I will rise to the occasion. I am looking forward to the challenges of leading these two great organizations into the future. The unique needs of both entities will fully utilize the skills and talents I have developed over the years.”
“My first priority is to rally support for the entrepreneurs and tech companies across Wyoming. I would like to see Wyoming grow as a regional and national economic power. We will recruit more members to join the ranks. In the upcoming weeks look for the Wyoming Innovations Network (WIN) to make people take notice of the matchless business opportunities that are available here”, Mrs. Peterson replied when asked about her goals for the future.
